Best practices ensure long-term viability:
-
Consulting for government agencies & foundations
-
Consulting for non-profit HHS providers and CBOs
How do you ensure best practices are in place for fiscal and administrative compliance – and long-term viability?
Do you work for a funder (e.g., government agency or foundation) and need to audit an organization for programmatic compliance? Or do you work for a non-profit agency providing services and need to “get your financial house in order” to assure best practices, full compliance, and the long-term viability of your organization?
As a fiscal/administrative consultant and founder of ARMOUR, Inc., Joseph Boyd, MPA, specializes in analyzing and managing the efficacy of fiscal, administrative, and information systems for financial, program, and data-gathering compliance with governmental and private governance.
ARMOUR, Inc. consults with two major categories of clients throughout the US:
- Organizations that fund programs and services
- This includes government agencies (federal/state/local), philanthropic foundations, educational institutions, and for-profit corporations with charitable giving programs or social enterprises.
- Joseph’s consulting services focus on MANAGING & MONITORING. Joseph can manage your programs, distribute monies as the fiscal agent, monitor the programs, and devise performance measures to ensure your organization’s goals are achieved. Joseph’s guidance can provide answers to these questions: How do we measure impact? How do we ascertain whether the program is reaching its goals? How do we know whether we are affecting real change?
- Non-profit agencies that deliver programs and services
- This includes all types of federal, state, and local health and human services (HHS) providers, federally qualified health centers (FQHCs), AIDS service organizations (ASOs), community health centers (CHCs), and community based organizations (CBOs).
- When teaming with not-for-profit agencies, Joseph’s consulting services focus on DIRECTING, MANAGING & MONITORING. In fact, he frequently provides temporary leadership as Interim Executive Director or Interim CFO to provide strategic direction, as Grant Manager, or as a high-level Accounting Specialist. Specific activities often include creating policies and procedures and setting up your books in a manner that will help you better understand and follow rules and guidelines. Joseph can guide your organization to answer challenging questions such as: What is success to your agency? How do you know you’re achieving your purpose? What are your performance objectives? What metrics are you tracking?
With a solid fiscal and administrative foundation (including programmatic compliance), non-profits can continue to receive funding, deliver quality services, and make an impact.
“I’m committed to helping both types of organizations build on their success,” Joseph says. “Guiding non-profit agencies to achieve a solid fiscal and administrative foundation ensures two things. First, they fully meet funding and programmatic compliance. Second, they analyze their budgets, improve staffing pattern, increase outreach, generate more revenue, and build capacity. This will ensure the long-term viability of the organization. And this means they will create ongoing public value by providing consumers the critical services they need, year after year.”
