Consulting for Government Agencies & Foundations
A thorough audit ensures compliance – and finds opportunities to strengthen the partnership and program results
Your organization has funded or awarded a grant to a non-profit agency. Conducting a thorough audit is critical to ensure compliance – and more. As a results-oriented fiscal/administrative consultant, Joseph Boyd, MPA, advocates for strengthening the non-profit agency, so funders can achieve their targeted results.
Every time Joseph conducts a review, a key goal is to help strengthen the partnership between the funding agency and services provider in order to achieve desired results.
Funders include federal, state, and local government agencies; philanthropic foundations; educational institutions; and for-profit corporations with charitable giving programs or social enterprises.
If you work for a funding organization, you may be asking these questions about your program:
- Are we getting timely, accurate reports, so we can be certain we’re getting good results and ROI?
- Can the non-profit services provider show full legislative and programmatic compliance?
- Is the agency managing funds appropriately and efficiently?
- Does the agency adhere to financial and administrative best practices, ensuring the long-term viability of that organization – and our program?
- Is the agency creating public value?
Joseph Boyd and ARMOUR, Inc. provide robust consulting services for organizations that fund programs and services
Joseph’s consulting services focus on MANAGING & MONITORING. He can manage your programs, distribute monies as the fiscal agent, and monitor the programs. For example, if your organization has granted $1.5 million to 3 child-development non-profit agencies in 3 different cities, Joseph can manage and monitor this complex project – and devise performance measures to ensure your organization’s goals are achieved.
Specific services include:
- Fiscal and administrative consulting – Conduct in-depth, on-site audits of the service providers, programs, and clinics your organization is funding to ensure full compliance and ensure good return on your investment.
- Leadership and technical assistance – Present a plan of action and provide in-depth leadership and technical assistance to the services provider to implement best practices, expand the organization’s capacity, and assure the long-term viability of the organization and the program you fund. If necessary, Joseph provides temporary leadership for the non-profit agency as Interim Executive Director or Interim CFO to provide strategic direction, as Grant Manager, or as a high-level Accounting Specialist.
- Grant reviews – Analyze grant submissions and responses to your RFPs to ensure they perform to the standards and meet all requirements. Present the analysis and, if requested, recommendations.
- Grant monitoring/grant management – Follow up on awarded grants to ensure service providers are in compliance and using your organization’s grant funds appropriately (according to your guidelines and specifications), and present a thorough and timely analysis.
